Born in Khartoum, Sudan, 1966 Besides establishing a number of individual and collective exhibitions and workshops in Sudan and abroad, he composes and illustrates children's books. These were published in Arabic, French, Italian and Spanish. As a filmmaker he directed and produced six short films, divested between documentary and fantasia. His films were screened in a number of international film festivals. He won the Jury Prize (special acknowledgement) for his film "Heaven's Bird" at the International Short Film festival "Images that matter" in Ethiopia 2010. I was born in one of the villages of the western bank of the blue river Nile… I grew up on crochet designs knitted by my mother; imaginary animals… men and women in love… circles and triangles in an endless integration with colours no one but me could see… That’s how my eyes were opened. ..and on my grandfather’s patience, skillfulness and strength in making fishing nets I learnt that patience has a taste of honey that made of lemon-flowers’ nectar. As a child, I started to scribble before saying my first words; I used to see words’ characters in circles and triangles of my mother’s. I get inspired by everything around me; a woman moans, or making joyful sounds*Zaghareed – Music playing in a cab- pail drawings painted in white chalks on a white wall by a passerby. Unfinished drawing of a child- a woman’s cloth challenges the road and another one walking timidly- A man’s Jalabyya perfectly or recklessly plant-embroidered on the sleeves. Memories stuck on the mind when the Russian Circus presented unforgettable performances in the public park with local people. All that and other come to me while in front of the white canvas stretched on the Mosky-wooden frame.
